Music On, Music Off, and Next Track: The Only Controls You Need

This music player has just two main controls: music on or music off. Additionally, you can move to the next track by pressing the large round button that becomes accessible when the music is on. This gives us the following simple options:
  1. Music on: lid up
  2. Next song: press the large round button under the lid
  3. Music off: lid down
Of course, it is also possible to adjust the volume. However, this option is “hidden” at the bottom of the music player to prevent the user from setting the volume too high or too low. The correct volume level can be set by a caregiver, family member, or friend. This is done by holding down one of the buttons on the bottom for 5 seconds, which will change the volume level.

Not a Radio, But Someone's Own Favorite Music

Listening to music is very important for people with dementia. Music has a profound effect on our brains. Increasingly, we are learning about the positive effects music has, both on well-being and memory, especially familiar music from the past. The music player is designed to play someone's favorite music, music with certain memories, such as old CDs that may be tucked away in a cupboard. Of course, besides CDs, you can also use digital music (for example, from iTunes). With 4GB of internal memory, the music player offers enough space for 1,000 songs. To set up the music player, help from family, friends, and/or caregivers is needed. These people can decide which music the individual enjoys. A good source of music is often old CDs that have been sitting in the cupboard for years. Setting up the music player consists of two steps:
  1. Load music onto the music player
  2. Set the volume
If the music player stays plugged in, it will continue playing from where it last stopped. This way, all songs are played, and not just the first 10 repeatedly. Additionally, you can connect headphones to the music player, which can be useful at times. These are also available for purchase from us.
